Ripping the contents of a Blu-ray disc can take a long time, especially if you have to deal with a series with a large number of episodes. To make the process faster, you can use BatchGuy to rip multiple episodes in batch mode. It can use a wide range of encoders and remuxers and it has various advantages to offer. While it isn't something that beginners will master easily, the software can prove to be invaluable in the hands of power users.

BatchGuy is a lightweight utility, which doesn't even need to be installed. However, there are some prerequisite tools you have to install first. Besides the obligatory eac3to, you will also need to install at least one third party encoder, like AviSynth. You can use the application on any modern Windows system, without encountering any compatibility issues.

The main user interface is compact and it doesn't display much more than a large icon, but you can find the options you need in one of the top menus. These options will bring up separate tools, for creating different kinds of batch files. Each tool features a large number of options which can make your life significantly easier, despite their large number.

The available tools bring many advantages to the table. For example, the eac3to tool can be used to create batch files for extracting streams from more than one folder and even from multiple discs. Furthermore, the software lets you make a wide range of tweaks to the audio inputs and outputs, to languages and other elements you want to extract.

BatchGuy can use AviSynth to generate script files for MKV videos streams. What's more, the software is capable of creating templates, to organize the extracted data into different episodes. There are many other things you can do with this utility, provided you know a thing or two about the necessary encoders.

When it comes to ripping Blu-ray discs, few tools can provide you with the same level of versatility as BatchGuy.

Pros

The software can extract multiple video streams, from different folders or discs. It uses a wide range of encoders for this purpose. Also, it places numerous configuration options at your disposal.

Cons

The software relies exclusively on third party encoders.
